To sewing. Yesterday I decided to make up a tree skirt panel I had to sell at the bazaar
The panel also had two squares on it. No instructions on it so I decided to make trivets of them
The squares weren't square to begin with and the side of the panel had been cut so close that I would lose corners if I'd tried to straighten them. I'm still struggling with the idea of using binding sewn to the back rather than the front and then edge stitched on the front. But I guess practise makes perfect and maybe they don't look so bad. It certainly is faster than hand stitching down the binding on the back.

I dont hand stitch anything binding wise. All by machine. However I hate binding with a passion no matter which way it's done.
Your tree skirt and trivets look sweet. I'm sure they'll sell at the bazaar. I keep seeing more and more Christmas things out and about - it must be getting close or something.
Cute items for Christmas sale!!!
I do believe that this summer has been so "uppy-downy" weather!! One minute no clothes and ac on high--next you need lots of clothes and a sweater!!!
we are bad for complaining though--we could live where it's worse--
Hugs, Di
Love it all ,those snowman trivets are adorable .I never have any luck with panels it bothers me if they are not perfectly square .
Our weather here has been hot ,hot we just don't get a break ,I'm not complaining its better then snow . I can't swim so I don't go near the water but being on the boat sounds wonderful ,enjoy .
I like to save the additional prints to make pot-holders. I even do it with the quiet book pannels, I have a set of ABC's that I just love using. cw
You know, I have never finished off the binding except by hand! Something peaceful about it to me, to sit and finish a project by hand, and enjoy thinking about who I made it for. (Boy, am I sappy this morning, or what?!)
Your tree skirt and trivets are great!
Glad to hear you got out on the boat!
Our temps are back up in the 90s. UGH!
I also finish my binding by hand, I enjoy doing it that way. Cute Christmas fabrics. They should do well at the bazaar.
