AWARD!

Look what I got from Molly (cap-lady)!! A Friendship Award!

Thanks SO much Molly. It means a lot to me.

Boy oh boy is it still hot here! Yesterday it reached 35C but with the humidity it was 41C - and we're on the ocean. We have an inland breeze rather than an ocean breeze when there is any breeze at all. Mostly its stagnant. 41C is about 111F.

It's impossible to think, move, stay awake. Thank goodness a few years ago when this happened we bought a stand alone air conditioner so we have that going. It's still 80F in the room it's in though... but at least it's a dry heat. This isn't supposed to clear up until next week.

Now I know once it clears up we're in for some crummy end of summer weather here but I wish we could get that for just one day. This weekend is a holiday. I don't know what it used to be called - First weekend in August holiday? Now here in BC we call it BC Day. Each province has their own name for it.

I know how it came about. The government needed one more statutory holiday in order to make the bi weekly paycheques even out. So they made one - guess if anyone would be able to do that it would be the government. I used to work for the government. Ugh.. can't believe I actually admitted that!

Anyway, this weekend the town 10 mins over from us is having their annual Sun Festival which includes a parade and a park full of stuff for kids. But what they have that I hate to miss is a 2 Day Antiques Fair. It's held in the Center that's their ice rink in winter. But there's no air conditioning in there or anything. So even just the heat coming off bodies on a regular day is oppressive enough, I can't imagine what it's going to be like on a weekend like this. Maybe the vendors will bring fans. I think they should bring out the Zamboni and put some ice down. We'd all have to wear skates to get around but at least we'd be comfortable. How can a place that's so darn cold in the winter be so darn hot in the summer? Husband says he's not going but I just gotta try it. I've never missed one. I've found some neat stuff there over the years.
