Hot, Hot, Hot

I decided to update my photo and now my whole profile disappeared! But I got it fixed by adding a gadget and doing "about me" again... don't know why that worked.

Boy it's hot here again today. How hot is it Shirley? It's so hot that the air conditioning in my car feels like a warm breeze. Of course I didn't drive far cause it's too hot to be in the car. The poor cleaning guy from COIT is coming tomorrow. When they called to confirm I said "Isn't it too hot for them to be doing work like this?" The guy said "Yes." Then I asked if I postponed if they'd send the guy to someone else's house anyway. He said "Yes." Boy they care about their employees huh?

So I've got a huge container of water cooling in the fridge and I'm going to put fans in the rooms that aren't being cleaned to try to make it at least a bit cooler in here. The humidity is sitting at 95%. It's gonna take a week for the rugs to dry. This is our Galileo Themometer. To be comfortable in here there should only be 2 guys at the bottom. At the moment I can almost hear them fighting for space *LOL*

I've always been intrigued by those thermometers. Do they really work? Karen

Galileo Thermometres are really fun to watch. I hope that you are sending Ontario some of your hot weather. Yesterday we had sunny skies, today there is a bit more cloud, and tomorrow, guess what? we are forecast more rain. I hope everything settles down for Saturday, as my youngest daughter is hosting an outside reunion for 28 people. Stay Cool. Patricia

Love the little candle mat in the last post. Glad you are feeling better.

Yes, the Galileo thermometer does work. It's based on his principle of boyancy. You can read about it here:

Science loses me a lot of the time. I'm much more into History.

I almost got one of those thermometers at a garage sale - wish I would have picked it up now - love those things. I hope it's cooled down some for you. It's been fabulous weather here in MN for a change - cool and comfortable! Lisa
